Video: The FCC’s Plan To Steamroll State Laws Against Government Broadband

Seton Motley | Less Government

Federalism? What’s Federalism?

The 2009 “Stimulus”bill contained $7.2 billion for local government broadband – the federal government giving city, county and municipal governments money to get into the Internet Service Provider (ISP) business.

Shocker – government broadband is a disaster. It already was, for years before the 2009 “Stimulus”- which just funded many, many more disasters.

Everyone in Utah may be charged $20 a month to bail out UTOPIA – their woefully mis-named, decade-long disaster government broadband project.

Provo, Utah government broadband iProvo lost tens of millions – and then Google swooped in and purchased everything for one dollar.

Shocker – Google loves government broadband. More

The Left is Aghast and Angry – WikiLeaks Leaks a…Deregulatory Trade Deal

Van Gogh Predicts the Left

No matter how many regulations exist – it’s never enough for the Left.  Regs are their Jell-O – they think there’s always room for more.

New EPA Regs Issued Under Obama Are 38 Times as Long as Bible

Since President Barack Obama took office on Jan. 20, 2009, the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued 2,827 new final regulations, equaling 24,915 pages in the Federal Register, totaling approximately 24,915,000 words.

As diligent as the Left is in trying to add to the government rule rolls, they get absolutely apoplectic when they lose any ground anywhere.

So when this happens:

Uber-Left Free Press’ ‘Net Neutrality’ Isn’t What Most Supporters Think It Is

Clearly Media Marxists Don’t Watch Greatness

In the cinematic classic “The Princess Bride,” Inigo Montoya utters the now oft-repeated “You keep using that word.  I do not think it means what you think it means.”

Uber-Left government-media outfit Free Press is highly practiced in this disingenuous art.  Their name is one shining example.  It sounds good, but when you find out for what they actually stand – not so much.

And they use “Net Neutrality” one way publicly to engender support for the already heinous policy – but their ultimate intent with it is something drastically different, and dramatically worse.

Free Press’ presented Net Neutrality persona sounds benign and innocuous. More

Long on Humor – Short on Facts

So it turns out there that something doesn’t have to be true to be funny.

Many a thinking American – who knows media bias – finds the following perversely appropriate.

Young Get News From Comedy Central

Tom Brokaw, Peter Jennings, Dan Rather … and Jon Stewart?

Readers over 30 might scoff at Stewart’s inclusion – assuming they know who he is. For many under 30, the host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” is, improbably, a source for news. More

What’s Even Worse than Net Neutrality? Government Internet Reclassification to Do It

Seton Motley | Less Government

The Administration’s Glove of Choice

We are almost six years into the Barack Obama Administration. This president has been almost undoubtedly the worst ever at exceeding his Constitutional authority.

A phone and a pen” are not magical – the president still has to adhere to the document to which he swore an oath. If he wants 2014 to be “a year of action,” he needs to find common ground with Congress and sign laws they pass. Not unilaterally jam us with dictatorial fiats.

There have already been too many such power grabs to even contemplate – and there are more, even larger ones coming.

Like, say, commandeering control of the World Wide Web. Behold Title II Reclassification.

The hardcore Media Marxist Left wants President Obama’s Federal Communications Commission to unilaterally change – for the worse – how the government regulates the Internet. Which would be an egregious violation of existing law – the 1996 Telecommunications Act. More

Not Quite Yet a
Free – and Fair – Trade Zone

We are free traders.  We want maximum exchange – with minimum government interference.

Markets always work better the freer they are. Free from all but the barest necessity laws and regulations, and the least taxes possible – up to and including none at all….

Trade Wars” actually aren’t about trade – they are about government trade policy. If peoples are trading freely, there isn’t a “War” – there’s commerce. The “Wars” only happen when governments get involved – placing tariffs, regulations and subsidies in the way of the flow.

It becomes a regulatory arms race. A government imposes another subsidy or tax. So several others in response impose new subsidies and taxes of their own. Lather-rinse-repeat. More

What a Drag

The Internet has in lightning-fast fashion become a free speech-free market Xanadu. Arguably no human endeavor in history has blossomed so beautifully, so rapidly.

It has done so with absolutely zero Network Neutrality regulations. There have never, ever been any such regulations actually in place.

If ever there were a definition of “unnecessary” – Net Neutrality regs is it.

Yet the Left has histrionically insisted for more than a decade that without such regs – the Internet as we enjoy it would simply cease to be. More

How is Prohibiting Consumers from Getting Free Stuff Pro-Consumer?

The Official Sign of Government – And ‘Consumer Groups’ Everywhere

The Media Marxist Left pushing the terrible Internet policy known as Network Neutrality oft are absurdly called “consumer groups.”

Major U.S. Consumer Groups Support (Federal Communications Commission) FCC Action on Net Neutrality

They want Net Neutrality because they want a single-payer government Web – they want the government to be your sole Internet Service Provider (ISP).

“(T)he ultimate goal is to get rid of the media capitalists in the phone and cable companies and to divest them from control.

How is that pro-consumer?  I’m fairly sure consumers of Veterans Administration services wouldn’t think it is. More
