Hey New York – You Do Realize It’s GLOBAL Warming, Right?

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

A Tiny Drop in a HUGE Bucket

You remember “global warming,” yes? It was for multiple decades the dubious cataclysmic Earth wrecker – always on the cusp of raining death and destruction down upon us all.

Except Reality intervened. Global temperatures flatlined in 1998 – and as of three years ago hadn’t risen since. So the purveyors of “global warming” fully shifted to the name “climate change” – and went into ever-greater spin mode.

World’s Top Climate Scientists Told to ‘Cover Up’ the Fact that the Earth’s Temperature Hasn’t Risen for the Last 15 Years: “(L)eaked documents seen by the Associated Press, yesterday revealed deep concerns among politicians about a lack of global warming over the past few years.”

Wait a minute. We’ve been told – by politicians and so many others – that rising temperatures would be the end of the planet. So we have a decade-and-a-half of temperatures not rising – and the politicians aren’t thrilled?

They instead have “deep concerns” – and demand scientists cover up the good news. Which further bolsters what we already knew. That politicians aren’t so much interested in saving the world – as they are in controlling it.

And the problem (and the irony) always is: The more control government has – the worse things get for the planet. And everyone on it. More

The Government is Eviscerating Private Property Rights. Again

‘For the Public Good’

The Fifth Amendment of the Constitution reads, in part, as follows:

“No person shall…be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

Meaning if you own property – government can’t arbitrarily take it from you. In whole or in part.

Sadly, taking without compensation is something at which the government is becoming expert:

“Most property rights scholars would probably tell you that property is sort of the redheaded stepchild of constitutional law….(T)he (Supreme) Court says something like, ‘The Government could hardly go on if to some extent the values incident to property couldn’t be diminished without paying for it every time the law changed.’”

Get that? For nearly a century, the Supreme Court has for the most part pretended the Fifth Amendment doesn’t exist – as per it being an impediment to government regulating without compensation property out of private existence.

Which, of course, government has been exceedingly happy to do. More

Google is STILL Rigging Searches for Hillary Clinton

Rigging – Smooth Sailing for Clinton

To quote Tool’s Maynard James Keenan: “I’m getting bored of getting bored.”

So many of America’s institutions are so consistently Leftist – that it pushes one past outrage to simple, resigned boredom. Government primary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, the media, Hollywood and most entertainment – all incessantly, boringly Leftist.

Sure, there are the occasional exceptions – Clint Eastwood, Tom Selleck, some country music stars. But they exist solely to prove the rule.

The Silicon Valley – America’s Tech Mecca – is no different. God bless uber-creator Peter Thiel – but he’s another rare deviation. In the Valley, it’s nigh omni-directional Leftist. I’m surprised the roads there aren’t all one way – and you’re forced to make three left turns rather than one right.

Thiel helped launch Facebook into the stratosphere with a game-breaking $500,000 angel investment. Yet Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg raced to distance the site from Thiel’s speech at this year’s Republican National Convention.

Zuckerberg, in fact, was but one voice of an entire Grecian Geek Chorus. More

We Don’t Negotiate with (Eco-) Terrorists

Santa Claus for the Naughty

At least we shouldn’t.

Why shouldn’t we? Because to do so is to normalize and mainstream terrorism. You’re elevating it to the same level as actually acceptable engagements between actually acceptable nations and parties.

And if you pay terrorists – you’re showing terrorism pays. Human nature dictates: Reward a behavior – and you’ll get more of that behavior.

So if you’re smart – or care about longterm security and as many normal people as possible conducting normal lives – you don’t negotiate with terrorists.

Let’s look at the latest high profile terrorist negotiation and payoff: President Barack Obama sending $400 million to terrorist Iran – to secure the release of four American hostages.

Has that huge cash payment brought an end to Iranian hostage taking? Of course not.

Has that huge cash payment tamped down broader Iranian inanity? Of course not. More
