If You’re Looking to Rent a Leftist Attorney General…

…New York Democrat Eric Schneiderman is on the market – and open for business. And you don’t even need to contact him – he’ll contact you.

Schneiderman is worse than pay-to-play. He is pay-to-play – in reverse. He will launch insufferable Leftist Quixote campaigns first – and ask for campaign cash later.

Schneiderman and some of his co-awful cohorts wasted a year-plus attempting to eviscerate the First Amendment rights of oil company ExxonMobil.

Democratic Attorneys General to Police Climate Change Dissent: “A coalition of Democratic attorneys general…announced Tuesday an unprecedented campaign to pursue companies that challenge the catastrophic climate change narrative, raising concerns over free speech and the use of state authority to punish political foes.

“Standing beside former Vice President Al Gore, New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said the state officials are committed to ‘working together on key climate-related initiatives,’ including queries into whether fossil fuel companies like ExxonMobil have committed fraud by deceiving the public and shareholders about the impact of man-made carbon dioxide emissions….

“These dozens-of-Democrat attempts to circumvent the guaranteed right to speak freely – have gone absolutely nowhere. (Save for the millions of dollars Exxon has had to waste fending off these frauds.)”

I am quite sure Schneiderman completely buys into the global warming climate change myth – and tilted at this particular windmill in full blinkered belief. More

Bill Murray Reports: It’s Farm Bill Time. Again.

Let’s End the Perpetual Re-Run

One of our greater American films – is Groundhog Day. Where Bill Murray’s character – television weatherman Phil – is caught in a time loop. He awakens every day – to the exact same day. He is stuck on February 2nd – Groundhog Day.

Once past the bewilderment stage, Phil understandably, quickly grows increasingly perturbed with his predicament. On Day Whatever of his cursed closed circle, Phil goes on air with a dispirited, sardonic “It’s Groundhog Day. Again.”

I felt exactly like Phil – when I came across this:

Groups Are Coming Up with New Policy Ideas for a New Farm Bill: “While much of America is focused on the November presidential election, farm groups are already talking about the next farm bill. Early policy ideas are already being brainstormed by agriculture groups….This new bill can’t come soon enough for both the cotton and dairy industries. ”

It’s Farm Bill time. Again.

Wait a minute. We passed the last one – in 2014. It lasts for five years – until 2019. What gives? More

The Government is Eviscerating Private Property Rights. Again

‘For the Public Good’

The Fifth Amendment of the Constitution reads, in part, as follows:

“No person shall…be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.”

Meaning if you own property – government can’t arbitrarily take it from you. In whole or in part.

Sadly, taking without compensation is something at which the government is becoming expert:

“Most property rights scholars would probably tell you that property is sort of the redheaded stepchild of constitutional law….(T)he (Supreme) Court says something like, ‘The Government could hardly go on if to some extent the values incident to property couldn’t be diminished without paying for it every time the law changed.’”

Get that? For nearly a century, the Supreme Court has for the most part pretended the Fifth Amendment doesn’t exist – as per it being an impediment to government regulating without compensation property out of private existence.

Which, of course, government has been exceedingly happy to do. More

Democrats Now Want to Preemptively Punish Climate Change Pre-Crimes

Yet Another Excellent Prediction

In the Tom Cruise-starring science-fiction-future-flick “Minority Report”: “A special police unit is able to arrest murderers before they commit their crimes.” These were called “Pre-Crimes.”

Objection, Your Honor: Assuming facts not yet in evidence.

But Democrats aren’t letting that stop them. Donkeys and Hollywood have for decades been hyper-intertwined. And the Donkeys are now taking this harmonic convergence more than a mite too far.

To wit: We have the nigh endless Democrat persecution of petroleum company Exxon Mobil. Which began as an assault on the First Amendment.
