Silicon Valley: If Something on the Internet Is Free – You’re the Product

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Always and Everywhere

The Internet is a wonderment. Perhaps the greatest feat of human achievement…ever.

Of course things like penicillin and the polio vaccine are wonderments – and amazing betterments of man. But they were rifle shots. The Internet is an omni-directional automatic shotgun. With benefits redounding up and down – in 360 degrees.

To name but one medical benefit: Soon doctors will be able to perform examinations, surgeries and other procedures…remotely. Doctors Without Borders…on steroids. Dedicated broadband connections will allow cameras and robot hands to be controlled by doctors…from anywhere. Delivering lifesaving care…anywhere and everywhere.

America’s Internet Service Providers (ISPs) – are the world’s leaders. They have connected the vast land mass that is America (it is much easier to connect tinier places). And rapidly delivered us from ridiculously slow 14K dial-up – to 1GB of lightening speed…and beyond.

And we are on the verge of the Fifth Generation (5G) wireless network – which really should be called Second Level. This transformation will infinitely expand our Internet – and our concept of the Internet. And deliver us countless things we can not yet even conceive. More

Democrats Have Totally Given Up on Legislation and Legislating

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

If You Can Keep It…

A half-century-plus of government school victims has rendered We the People collectively, increasingly less and less capable of walking and chewing gum simultaneously.

Let alone understanding our republican government – and how things are actually supposed to work.

For everyone who succumbed to their government indoctrinations – behold an introduction to how our democratic republic is supposed to work.

We have three branches of government – the Legislative, the Executive and the Judicial. Short version:

The Legislative – writes and passes legislation. We elect the legislators – which purports to give us direct say over what laws govern us.

The Executive is headed by the President – whom we also elect. The President signs the legislation – at which point they become laws. The Executive Branch – then executes these laws. No more – and no less. If there is no precedent legislation – regulations from the Executive…are illegal. More

Ending DC’s Titanically Stupid Fake ‘Free Trade’ Is the Far More Important Policy Change

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

For an Exciting
Change of DC Pace

First – a bit of disclosure.

DC is a fairly small, very expensive place. If you’re involved in politics – you know a whole lot of other people who are involved in politics.

With many – you disagree on a lot of stuff, and agree on a little. With many others – you agree on a lot of stuff, and disagree on a little.

The old saw is: If you want to see someone with whom you agree on everything – look in a mirror. And even then, with a lot of these people,….

We run a joint called Less Government – so you can guess on which side of the ideological aisle we reside. We want less government – in all things, everywhere.

We don’t fall prey to short-term thinking. For instance, it took us more than a century to get into this $4-trillion-per-year federal mess – we ain’t correcting wholly, instantaneously. More

Oops: Burger King Accidentally Proves How Dumb and Unnecessary Net Neutrality Regs Are

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Shocker: A King Wants Government Totalitarianism

All the rage last week amongst the mis-informed masses – and the mass media misinforming them – was a pro-Network Neutrality video burger joint Burger King (BK) bizarrely extruded.

The pseudo-news stories about the BK video – were nigh endless. They all breathlessly praised the cow palace for presenting its digital whopper.

The problem with the video – from the perspective of BK and its media cheerleaders – is it is supposed to tell us why massive government regulations under the banner of Net Neutrality are so vital.

What the video actually, accidentally does – is demonstrate (yet again) how dumb and unnecessary Net Neutrality regulations actually are.

The video begins with man-on-the-street interviews – where no one included has any idea what Net Neutrality is. They shouldn’t feel bad – because after watching BK’s video…they still won’t know what Net Neutrality is. More

The Left’s Latest Copy-and-Paste Fake Grassroots Campaign

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Leftist Electronic Fakery

The Left is notorious for runaway gangbuster campaigns with massive grassroots groundswell support – that are actually not runaway gangbuster campaigns with massive grassroots groundswell support.

The Left’s ideas – are awful. Because of this awfulness – their ideas aren’t very popular with We the People.

Thus the Left isn’t any good at generating support. But they are absolutely GREAT at making it look like they are generating support.

In these fraudulent endeavors – they have many massive built-in advantages over we who fight for Reality-based public policy solutions that garner actual public support. More

College IS for Dummies: Harvard Government-Run-Internet Edition

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

SO Worth It

One of our ongoing, recurring themes is – College IS for Dummies.

Colleges and universities aren’t education facilities. They are continued indoctrination centers – they pick up where government schools K-12 leave off.

Government schools indoctrinate the radicals – colleges activate the radicals.

The Academies have for more than half a century been packed to the rafters with absurdly Leftist professors and administrators.

Conservative legend William F. Buckley first gained national prominence by writing “God and Man at Yale.” Which chronicled his all-encompassing uber-Left experience as an undergrad – and was published in 1951.

That was eighteen years before Woodstock – and the ridiculous, radical campus “freedom” movement. Where school faculty after school faculty allowed the student inmates to storm their offices, take over and run the asylum. More

Net Neutrality and Government-Run Internet: The Left’s New Excuse for an Awful Old Idea

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

The Non-Stupid Money
Is on ‘No’

The Left’s cavalcade of lies continues unabated about…everything.

The examples are nigh endless – but for our purposes here let us focus on the latest avalanche about the Internet.

A month ago, the Donald Trump Administration was on the verge of undoing the Barack Obama Administration’s ridiculous huge government imposition on the Web.

Contained within the Obama Administration’s Trojan Horse of “Network Neutrality” – was their in 2015 imposing a 1934 government-monopoly landline telephone regulations regime on to the Internet.

The Obama Administration did this because their grab magically gave the government a huge new swath of regulatory and taxing powers over the Internet – that they didn’t have the way the the government (didn’t) regulate the Internet from its mid-1990s private sector inception until the 2015 grab. The World’s Global Trade Slush Funds – This Isn’t Free Trade

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Let’s End This, Shall We?

We have oft detailed and analyzed the fake-ness of what has for decades passed for “free trade” in Washington, D.C.

DC has for half-a-century-plus removed all government impediments to our market for every other country on the planet. While continuing to allow every other country on the planet to hinder and hamper our exporting companies – with as many government impediments to their markets as they can possibly conceive.

This isn’t free trade. Imagine the United States – and it’s world’s-largest economy – as the hub of a global wheel. And all of the very many spokes are one-way streets, running only inward. On which every other nation delivers us their goods and services – and we can’t get anything out.

Decades of this dumbness has been a key contributor to why we have hemorrhaged millions of jobs and trillions of dollars – bleeding it all out into the international marketplace.

When we think of other-government-impediments to our entering their markets – the two things that immediately leap to mind are tariffs and regulations. They impose huge taxes and regulatory limitations on our imports – dramatically limiting their end of the “free trade” equation. More

Next on Net Neutrality: Democrats Will Campaign on Reimposing Huge Government

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Yes, Please

Before last year’s year-end tax reform success – there were in fact precedent legislative achievements by this Congress.

Behold the Congressional Review Act (CRA): “The law empowers Congress to review, by means of an expedited legislative process, new federal regulations issued by government agencies and, by passage of a joint resolution, to overrule a regulation.

“Once a rule is thus repealed, the CRA also prohibits the reissuing of the rule in substantially the same form or the issuing of a new rule that is substantially the same ‘unless the reissued or new rule is specifically authorized by a law enacted after the date of the joint resolution disapproving the original rule.’”

The Congress spent a good portion of the early part of 2017 passing CRA after CRA – happily signed again and again by President Donald Trump.

Net Neutralized – by Government: Iran’s Mullahs Kill the Web

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Less Government – More Internet

In what could be called The Green Revolution 2.0 – 1.0 took place in 2009 – Iran’s abused and suffering citizenry has again taken to the streets to protest their awful totalitarian mullah-ocracy.

And Iran’s awful totalitarian government did what governments everywhere these days do when their rabble are roused – it killed the Internet.

Iran Is Blocking the Internet to Shut Down Protests: “As protests over economic instability and government censorship persist in Iran, the Hassan Rouhani government has reportedly wielded its favorite suppression tactic: blocking the internet.”

Again, it ain’t just Iran’s awful totalitarian government that likes to kill the Internet. Governments the world over are big fans of shutting down the World Wide Web. More
