Uber-Left Amazon Set to Get Uber-Cronyism – From Republicans

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Our New Republican-Created, Government-Purchase Monopoly Robber Baron…?

We spent nigh the duration of the very awful Barack Obama Administration chronicling in-depth the in-depth cronyism they serially, unilaterally shoveled at the Silicon Valley.

That rampant corruption – was a primary reason the Donald Trump Administration was chosen to succeed the Barack Obama Administration. The Trump Administration – has set about undoing much of the Obama Administration’s Silicon Valley cronyism.

But as we’ve so often noted: Trump’s biggest mistake upon arriving in DC – was not making many, MANY more people leave DC. There are many Swamp Creature-holdover holes still to fill in the Executive Branch – which the Valley continues to exploit.

The Valley has also upped their efforts with the Legislative Branch. Most unfortunately, that Republican-led body is weak in (oh-so-many) spots – and amenable to the Valley’s crony overtures.

Monster online retailer (and increasingly just about everything else) Amazon (market cap: $540 billion) – is on the verge of striking huge crony gold.  More

Penny Wise-Pound Foolish is Bad Government Policy

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Let’s Not, Shall We?

We want less government – in all things. This is not a moment-to-moment, transient concept. This is an overarching, timeless desire.

We are not short-sighted in this pursuit. This sometimes means spending a little more government money up front – to save a whole lot of government money later.

Spending a little government coin now on a border wall and better border enforcement – will save us down the road a TON of government money spent on medical care, housing, schools, welfare checks and a whole host of other government-funded things.

Spent not just on the 20 million or so illegal aliens. But also on the American citizens whose jobs and wages are squelched by the illegally imported competitors. And all Americans – whose taxes have to be inexorably, dramatically increased to pick up the titanic illegal alien-induced government tab. More

Obama Holdovers Are Making Puerto Rico’s Recovery Much Less Possible

We Must Improve the
Ground for Recovery

The most damaging and pernicious of the nigh infinite elements of the Washington, D.C. Swamp – which President Donald Trump has pledged to drain – is the leftover personnel.

Holdovers from the Barack Obama Administration especially – and residual creatures generally. Leftist ideological hacks – and permanent DC denizens. All of whom have very comfortable nests – feathered by DC’s Swampy foulness.

Defenders all of the awful status quo.

Trump has made some serious mistakes. None of them is more serious than allowing so many of these people to remain in DC after he arrived. More

Crony Republicans, Re-Recurring Terrible Ideas – and the WORLD Wide Web

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Those in Acronym Land –
Should Know Better

In Washington, D.C., bad ideas never die – they just get new Congressional bill numbers.

There is no notion so dreadful nor roundly rejected – that an additional dash of crony campaign cash can’t resuscitate it. In DC, the Walking Dead don’t eat long pig – they eat pork.

So it is with Crony Republicans’ serial efforts to try to ban online gambling. Billions of pennies have been thrown at very many GOP members – to ensure that this particular bad penny keeps re-turning up.

The Chief Crony in question – is Sheldon Adelson. A $35-billion-net-worth brick-and-mortar casino magnate – who doesn’t like seeing his gambling house profits undercut by the Internet revolution.

So he bribes various and sundry Republican officials – to the tune of about $200 million in just the last few years – to again and again propose legislation that would kill United States-based gambling websites.

Because a disappointingly large swath of the Elite apparently doesn’t understand that the first “W” in the Internet address prefix “WWW” – is short for “World.” More
