The Media-Silicon Valley Nexus Loves Covering Cronyism – Until It Involves Democrats

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

It’s All So Very Helpful

We very much dislike government cronyism. It is one of the very many very awful byproducts of government that is too big for the britches we are forced to purchase them.

And we have incessantly documented how ridiculously biased is the traditional media.

And we have repeatedly chronicled how the center of the media world has moved from the ridiculously Leftist New York City-Washington, D.C. corridor – to the insanely Leftist Silicon Valley. Subscriptions aren’t driving this high speed rail – nearly so much as are clicks, Tweets and Shares.

And most important of all – Search results. Before you can click, Tweet or Share something – you first have to find it. And if you’re scanning the Web for news using Google – far and away the most used search engine – you’re almost certain to get skewed Leftist results. More

The NY Times and the Guy Hunting the GOP: Latest in a Long History of Fake News

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Not Exactly Breaking News

The New York Times is simply a ridiculous publication. And has been for decades. It is hopelessly, blindly, willfully Leftist. And has been for decades. And to advance their Leftism, they have lied and lied again and again. For decades.

Just yesterday, their Editors en toto wrote about the Bernie Sanders supporter who went Republican hunting in Alexandria, Virginia – firing more than fifty rifle shots at GOP Congressmen and staffers on a baseball diamond. Included in that piece was the following:

“In 2011, when Jared Lee Loughner opened fire in a supermarket parking lot, grievously wounding Representative Gabby Giffords and killing six people, including a 9-year-old girl, the link to political incitement was clear. Before the shooting, Sarah Palin’s political action committee circulated a map of targeted electoral districts that put Ms. Giffords and 19 other Democrats under stylized cross hairs.”

This is a lie. A lie that was thoroughly disproven…in 2011. Loughner was not only insane – to the degree that he was at all political, he was a Leftist. And the odds that this insane, apolitical idiot had actually seen Palin’s website – were, conservatively, a trillion-to-one. More

Government Cronyism – Looking to Stop the Power of Technology and the Free Market

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

The Doctor Will Screw You Now

The big government cronyism racket – is absurd. It is a disjointed, discombobulated mess of ridiculous ideas and assertions – put forward in steadfast defiance of the fundamentals of the free market and human nature.

Government intervention in the private sector is nigh always stupid and anti-productive. Private companies usually don’t go begging for government assistance – unless and until they have proven themselves failures in the private sector. (Unless they’re intensely obnoxious, have succeeded on their own – and want the added edge of government favoritism anyway. See: Google and Apple, amongst so many others.)

Most of the time, government isn’t picking winners and losers – government is picking losers at the expense of winners.

Big government officials – are more than happy to be the cronies on the inside. More government activity – means more power for them. Just cut the requisite campaign checks – and the government is your oyster. Oh – and then hire them to some well-paid-work-free gigs after they quit the government. Four-hundred-thousand-dollar-speech-giving, for instance.

Meanwhile in the Real World, there has of course been a technology revolution. Which has been a bit of a traditional-business-disruptor – and has unleashed a whole new tidal wave of attempted cronyism. As traditional businesses – disrupted by the new competition on the new playing fields – run to government to get (even more) protection from their increasing free market frailties. More

Oh Look – Senator ‘Fauxcahontas’ Warren Is Lying. Again

Her Lips Are Moving

If you are of the ideological Left, there is just about nothing you can do that will remove you from DC’s Elite Society and the Media’s good graces.

Bill Clinton credibly accused of rape?  No problem.  Hillary Clinton gives Russia 20% of our nation’s uranium in exchange for contributions to the family money laundering outfit – oops, I mean charitable Foundation?  No problem.  Bill Ayers being an FBI-designated domestic terrorist?  No problem – there’s a tenured college professorship awaiting you.  The examples are just about endless.

Then there are the lies.  Oh so many lies.  And no matter how many times Leftists are caught bald-faced – they get to move on.  And the very next thing they say – is treated as if it possesses the moral authority and inherent credibility of someone who…well, hadn’t just been caught lying their face off.

Bill Clinton lied under oath – which in part led to his having to give up his law license.  Hillary Clinton lied about sniper fire in Bosnia.  And being named after Sir Edmund Hillary.  And repeatedly about her private-bathroom State Department email server.  Barack Obama said we could under his Obamacare keep our doctors and our insurance plans.  A lie parroted by myriad other Democrats. Keep the Lame (Duck) Cronyism out of Contact Lenses

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Tyranny of the Un-Elected

I may be jinxing myself – but my aging eyes remain pretty good. <Knocks on wood.> So I can, with my untrammeled sight, spot the ridiculous cronyism that abounds all around the ridiculous city that is Washington, D.C.

Including when that cronyism adversely affects the contact lens market. I don’t have to use a product – to like a free, fair and open market for it. A market which DC actually opened up a bit in 2004 – and which cronies are now looking to slam back shut.

And these cronies are looking to do it in a lame duck Congressional session – which is itself a problem. Lame duck sessions – are lame. Legislators who just lost their gigs – should stop legislating. Because We the People just voted to have them stop legislating.

Who are the Contact Cronies? And what are the Contact Cronies looking to have Lame Duck DC do?

The Cronies are a cabal of optometrists and contact lenses manufacturers who want to regain their lens sale monopoly. Which means they want a lame duck law – that undoes the good work Congress did in 2004. More

Our Private Sector Medical System is Suffering Myriad Government Assaults…

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Hey Government – The Private Sector Has Already Been Picked Clean

…Republican Chairman Fred Upton should preempt one of them.

Ain’t government medicine great? Of course, it ain’t.

Obamacare…is an unmitigated disaster. Insurance premiums have exploded. On average, 41% in 2014. Another 24% in 2015. Couldn’t find specific, general numbers in 2016 – but they were again double digit increases. And 2017 is looking another 30%+ awful. Deductibles have also increased dramatically. And despite the fact that people are mandated by law to sign up – sign-ups are way short.

Medicare…is an unmitigated disaster. In 2012, the program faced $38.6 TRILLION in future liabilities – for which it does not have the money. In these last four years, do you think that gigantic problem has gotten better – or worse?

This titanic economic shortfall is even more ridiculous – considering it’s getting harder and harder to find any health care providers who will see Medicare patients. For decades, more and more providers have started refusing to see them. Because Medicare doesn’t pay in anywhere near a timely fashion – and it absolutely does not pay anywhere near enough.

Medicare needs to be completely privatized. But this is DC, so that won’t happen. Short of that, it needs drastic, dramatic reform. But this is DC, so…. In the meantime, attempting to squeeze more blood from provider stones is not even close to a solution. At this point, you’ve already wrung-beyond-hope any conceivable savings out of our depleted, diminishing Medicare provider force. More
