Freedom of Assembly – Completely Free from Government Interference or Imposition

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

With Nary a Peep from Government

The Constitution’s First Amendment reads as follows:

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”

The emphasis is ours – so as to highlight the portion we are now going to discuss. We the People are free to assemble – or not assemble – any way we wish. Completely free from government interference or imposition.

Keep in mind that the Constitution’s drafters and ratifiers also delineated the separation and balance of powers. The Legislative Branch (“Congress”) was the only one of the three that was to initiate new interferences and impositions on the people (and were, again, only to do so within the strict confines of said Constitution). So “Congress” is the only governmental entity they mention in the First Amendment. More

America First – Also Means Acting When Our Businesses Get Screwed Overseas

In This Instance – Americas First

Before he was Politician Donald Trump – he was Businessman-TV Star Donald Trump. All along the way (check out this “Oprah” hit from all the way back in 1988), Trump championed a Reality-based approach to actually free, fair trade. On which he eventually campaigned – as he ran for his new entry-level political position.

Trump’s trade approach – was antithetical to the way Washington, D.C. had long been doing trade. The DC warped definition of “free trade” was:

We would accommodate every other nation on the planet – by removing our government impediments to their goods and services coming here. Meanwhile, we’d do next to nothing to get their governments to return the favor.

Trump thought this was dumb. In no small part – because it’s dumb.

Trump proposed the weird notion that America’s government should first and foremost look out for – American companies and its people. More

Did Obama’s EPA Ignore a Crisis – to Make the Case for Even More Government?

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Obama, Inc.’s
Modus Operandi

Remember Fast and Furious?: “As a refresher, from 2009 to 2011, agents from the (President Barack Obama) Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF), overseen by the (Obama Department of Justice) DOJ, allowed known straw purchasers working for Mexican cartels to illegally buy thousands of firearms at U.S. gun shops.

“The ATF allowed those purchases to be illegally trafficked south of the border and into the hands of killers. The government lost track of most of the guns, and once in Mexico, they were used in an untold number of crimes.

“In December 2010, Border Patrol agent Brian Terry was killed by Mexican bandits in Rico Valley, Ariz, and guns found at his murder scene were from the Fast and Furious operation.

“Now, after more than five years of waiting, we finally received confirmation that the murder of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)agent Jaime Zapata in 2011 is also directly linked to Obama-era gunrunning.”

Why on Earth did the Obama Administration do something this titanically stupid?

Documents: ATF Used ‘Fast and Furious’ to Make the Case for Gun Regulations

And we know Obamacare was designed to fail – so as to make the case against the private sector and for full-on government medicine – because the architect of Obamacare publicly said so.

So one is inexorably led to wonder if the Obama Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ignored for years an environmental nightmare mess in Puerto Rico – so as to make the case for even more government control. More

We Must Save the Environment – From the Environmentalists

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Still Not Funny

The joke is so old and repetitive – because the joke that is environmentalism and environmentalists is so old and repetitive.  Time and again, nigh every time environmentalists gather to gripe about some fairy tale or other – or to simply listen to tunes, turn on, tune in and drop out – they have left behind an environmental disaster.

Remember Woodstock?  The 1969 Peace, Love and Narcotics concert in New York state?  These “Love Your Mother EarthGaia worshippers – left the concert field looking like a nuclear trash bomb had been dropped.  Ironic – given the Hippies’ “No Nukes” movement.

Flash forward forty years.  Remember Occupy Wall Street?  That was the second iteration of the Left’s series of failed attempts to replicate the germane grassroots magic of the Tea Party (remember the Coffee Party?).  Occupy’s chief complaint was against corporations (about which they vigorously complained on Twitter, Inc. and Facebook, Inc. – via their Apple, Inc. iPhones and Samsung, Inc. Galaxies).  Of course a component of their anti-corporation sentiment – was that corporations are destroying the planet.  They’re evil, they’re giant – and they mass-pollute.

You know who definitely destroyed their little corners of the planet?  Occupy Wall Street.  “They…were…the 99%” – of the massive mess makers in their anti-corporate equation.  They defecated and urinated on police cars.  Because – classy.  They lived in filth – and left it behind when they vamoosed.  Leaving the corporations and straight-job-having-taxpayers they loathe to pick up the tab for their noxious tantrums. Leftists Refusing to Provide Goods and Services Is Just Fine – Inauguration Edition

Eric Holder – The Face of Airbnb Open-Mindedness and Tolerance

There is nothing more close-minded than the open-minded Leftist.

As if we needed even more reminders of this metaphysical truth – behold Donald Trump’s presidential election and inauguration.  Which has oh-so-many-Leftists engaged in avalanche-esque amounts of flagrant obnoxiousness and whiplash-inducing hypocrisy.

And if you want some quintessential distilled Leftist essence – look to the Silicon Valley.

Liberal CEO Slams Middle America: ‘No Educated Person Wants to Live in Sh*thole With Stupid People’: “The CEO of a marketing and advertising firm in San Francisco has attacked Middle America in a bizarre rant on Facebook…Melinda Byerley, CEO of TimeShareCMO and an apparent Hillary supporter (wrote)…’One thing middle america could do is to realize that no educated person wants to live in a sh**ho** with stupid people. Especially violent, racist, and/or misogynistic ones…So if you want jobs, clean up your act and make your town a place that people like us want to live in….Make it a point to elect a progressive city council and commit to not being bigots.’”

I would imagine the Americans who this tolerant, open-minded Leftist dismisses as “stupid people” who “live in a sh**ho**” are going to rush to fundamentally transform their towns into mid-America San Fran-freakos – so as to attract her and her tolerant, open-minded ilk. More

The EPA Finally Has Something Legitimate It Could Do – So of Course It’s Not Doing It

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

The EPA – Handling Things As Well As Always

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is notorious for serially, consistently doing things the laws as written do not allow it to do.  Meanwhile, its bureaucrats are so unlawfully distracted –  they miss a mess they are actually supposed to address.

Is the EPA constantly doing things it’s not supposed to do?  Absolutely.

Supreme Court: EPA Unreasonably Interpreted the Clean Air Act

Supreme Court Deals Blow to Obama’s Efforts to Regulate Coal Emissions

Sixth Circuit Puts Controversial ‘Waters of the United States’ (WOTUS) Rule on Hold

DC Circuit Overturns EPA Backup Generator Rule

Federal Court Rejects EPA Cross-State Air Pollution Rule

And on, and on, and….

So preoccupied with their overreaches are the EPA’s denizens that when something glaringly, obviously wrong happens – about which the agency that shouldn’t exist can actually do something – they miss it entirely. More

Puerto Rican Protestors May Have a Point – But They Are Making It Very Badly

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

The Left (Privately) Says This a Lot

There is an environmental protest underway in borderline-bankrupt Puerto Rico. It involves the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), the bereft Puerto Rican government – and nasty landfills.

As has always been the case, it is only thriving capitalist economies that can afford to care about the environment. Only they have the disposable income available to keep things clean.

Failing states like Puerto Rico? Not so much. A quintessential representative thereof is their landfills – which have been unfettered receptacles for any and every nightmare mess Puerto Ricans produce.

Puerto Rico’s Landfill Governing Authority Says They Do Not Inspect All Landfills on the Island: “(Puerto Rico’s Environmental Quality Board (EQB) only has) eight to 10 inspectors, who are not exclusively dedicated to landfill inspections and sometimes fail to inspect all the landfills on the island.”

Enter the awful EPA. They took time out from turning domestic rivers neon orange – to do an equally bang-up job overseas.

Puerto Rico Is Full Of ‘Open Dumps’ Ripe For Spreading Zika, And EPA’s Ignoring Them: “The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has ignored numerous reports that most of Puerto Rico’s landfills are out of compliance with federal law, and some could even become breeding grounds for mosquitoes carrying the Zika virus, according to a new report….(Puerto Rican attorney Hiram Torres) Montalvo’s hard-pressed to find a reason why the EPA, which is generally so eager to regulate every other aspect of life, has done nothing to enforce existing laws for Puerto Rico’s landfills.” More

In the Proud Tradition of Leftist Domestic Terrorism…

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Unfortunately, the Left Emulates

Water is wet. The Sun rises in the east. And large swaths of the Left engage in heinous acts of violence in the name of politics.

For our purposes here today, we’ll ignore the 94 million or so people Communism has murdered around the world. This is about the domestic Left.

We’ll begin just after the Civil War – with the Democrat Party’s creation of the Ku Klux Klan. A racist outfit that murdered and terrorized blacks and sought to overthrow southern Republican governments.

Let us move forward to the radical 1960s. With the creation of groups like the Black Panther Party and the Weather Underground (ne the Weathermen). Who engaged in murder and mayhem of all sorts.

The Weather Underground liked planting bombs in places like police stations and the Pentagon. Weather Underground founder Bill Ayers ran in the same Chicago political circles as current outgoing Democrat President Barack Obama.

In the modern era, we have an evolving amalgam of violent Leftist entities. Occupy Wall Street and Black Lives Matter have each engaged in…un-peaceful activities. The protests of candidate Donald Trump and now President-elect Trump haven’t been pleasant. More

What Obama Just Did Exemplifies Why His Economy Continues to Stink On Ice

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

The President – Yet Again Selectively Spreading the Love Around

Uncertainty. Perhaps the worst of words for private sector investors. The free market is filled to the brim with it. One rarely if ever knows how things will transpire. You measure twice – if not three, four or five times. And then you cut your deal. Then you cross your fingers – and hope for the best.

And with all of that – eight out ten businesses fail. Ouch.

But that’s the nature of the private sector. If you want a successful, vibrant economy – you have to acknowledge and accept this uncertainty as a part of the deal.

What you don’t need – is all sorts of additional, superfluous, ridiculous uncertainty piled on top of you by government.

And the Barack Obama Administration is Team Uncertainty.

What you want from government is an orderly process for new laws. Thankfully, the Constitution sets that up. Elected members of the Legislative Branch debate bills. We the People can lobby members of Congress to redress our grievances. Making the bills better – or, failing that, making Congress better by electing new members.

The Obama Administration has bypassed all of this. And has instead governed by a massive flood of regulatory fiats – issued by unelected bureaucrats. Whom we can’t lobby. Of whom we can’t rid ourselves in the next election. (In fact, we can’t get rid of them just about ever.) More

Presidential Also-Ran Al Gore: Yet Another Non-Scientist Lecturing Us About Science

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Can’t You Feel the
Coin Rolling In?

And the dimmest shall lead us….

Anyone notice that the lead snake oil salesmen for global warming climate change – The Greatest Scam on Earth – aren’t scientists? And as the evidence against The Big Lie continues to roll in and pile up – the pro-Lie scientists recede further into the background? Further ceding the field to a wide array of utterly non-science snake oilers?

The reason The Big Liars no longer call The Big Lie “global warming” – is because the globe all-but-stopped warming in 1998. Global temperatures have spent the last eighteen years doing…nothing. They’ve basically flatlined. And you know who says so? Scientists.

Which is why the Big Liars had to change tack – and change names. Born was “climate change.” Or, as Ann Coulter pointed out, what we used to call “weather.” Which allows these snake oilers to dismiss those pointing out the many lies contained within the Big Lie as “climate change deniers.” As if we’re denying weather. (Although, actually, for the last eighteen years the climate – on the global temperature main – hasn’t changed.)

When real science rises up against you, you are forced to increasingly rely on fake science. To wit: We have fraudulently started treating carbon dioxide (CO2) as a pollutant. Which is a little strange, seeing as how that’s what everything plant on the planet inhales (and, symbiotically, we exhale – how great is that?). Ironically, tree huggers want to severely restrict what trees need to live. To them I say: Don’t hate – respirate.

Who made the decision that opened that Big Lie CO2 floodgates? Not scientists (Heaven forfend). Seven lawyers in robes – in that hallowed hall of science, the Supreme Court.

In reaction to the mounting actual science in opposition to their Lie, the non-scientist Liars have only screeched louder and with greater frequency. Earlier this month a Leonardo DiCaprio video made the social media rounds. In which he declared (likely after landing in his gas-guzzling private jet [population – eight]) that anyone opposed to the Big Lie is “unfit for office.” Mr. DiCaprio, of course, isn’t a scientist. He’s an actor. More
