The World’s Global Trade Slush Funds – This Isn’t Free Trade

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Let’s End This, Shall We?

We have oft detailed and analyzed the fake-ness of what has for decades passed for “free trade” in Washington, D.C.

DC has for half-a-century-plus removed all government impediments to our market for every other country on the planet. While continuing to allow every other country on the planet to hinder and hamper our exporting companies – with as many government impediments to their markets as they can possibly conceive.

This isn’t free trade. Imagine the United States – and it’s world’s-largest economy – as the hub of a global wheel. And all of the very many spokes are one-way streets, running only inward. On which every other nation delivers us their goods and services – and we can’t get anything out.

Decades of this dumbness has been a key contributor to why we have hemorrhaged millions of jobs and trillions of dollars – bleeding it all out into the international marketplace.

When we think of other-government-impediments to our entering their markets – the two things that immediately leap to mind are tariffs and regulations. They impose huge taxes and regulatory limitations on our imports – dramatically limiting their end of the “free trade” equation. More

Yes, Please

Before last year’s year-end tax reform success – there were in fact precedent legislative achievements by this Congress.

Behold the Congressional Review Act (CRA): “The law empowers Congress to review, by means of an expedited legislative process, new federal regulations issued by government agencies and, by passage of a joint resolution, to overrule a regulation.

“Once a rule is thus repealed, the CRA also prohibits the reissuing of the rule in substantially the same form or the issuing of a new rule that is substantially the same ‘unless the reissued or new rule is specifically authorized by a law enacted after the date of the joint resolution disapproving the original rule.’”

The Congress spent a good portion of the early part of 2017 passing CRA after CRA – happily signed again and again by President Donald Trump.

EPA Secretary Pruitt: The Eco-Nuts Will Never, Never Like You

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Remember Who Your Actual Friends Are – and the Fact That You’re Not a Radical Leftist

In the great Aaron Sorkin television creation “West Wing,” very accomplished fake president Jed Bartlet goes in for a brief bit of therapy. During which the following exchange occurs:

Bartlet: “It’s not good for a person to keep setting goals?”

Psychologist: “It probably is. But it’s tricky for somebody who is still trying to get his father to stop hitting him….”

Bartlet: “I’m not trying to get my father to like me.”

Psychologist: “Good. Because it’s never, never going to happen.”

It is of this conversation that I thought when I read of Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Secretary Scott Pruitt’s possible way-overkill cleanup plan for a Saint Louis, Missouri Superfund site. More

Net Neutralized – by Government: Iran’s Mullahs Kill the Web

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Less Government – More Internet

In what could be called The Green Revolution 2.0 – 1.0 took place in 2009 – Iran’s abused and suffering citizenry has again taken to the streets to protest their awful totalitarian mullah-ocracy.

And Iran’s awful totalitarian government did what governments everywhere these days do when their rabble are roused – it killed the Internet.

Iran Is Blocking the Internet to Shut Down Protests: “As protests over economic instability and government censorship persist in Iran, the Hassan Rouhani government has reportedly wielded its favorite suppression tactic: blocking the internet.”

Again, it ain’t just Iran’s awful totalitarian government that likes to kill the Internet. Governments the world over are big fans of shutting down the World Wide Web. More

Trump’s Hugely Successful Trade Approach – Should Be Applied to Farm Commodities

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

‘Are We There Yet?’
FINALLY, We Are

There is a whole lot of good going on in Donald Trump’s America. If you’re relying upon the traditional, ridiculous media – you don’t know about any of it.

If you’re relying upon the traditional, ridiculous media – you are eminently informed about Independent Counsel Robert Mueller’s in-depth investigation into the Trump campaign’s extensive collusion with Russia.

Except there remains zero evidence of the Trump campaign’s collusion with Russia. And Counsel Mueller is anything but independent. His team is packed to the rafters with Leftist hacks who repeatedly broke the law to cover up Hillary Clinton’s repeated lawbreaking – and ginned up investigatory “insurance policies” to deal with a prospective Trump presidential win.

That ongoing, rolling year-plus #FakeNews barrage – has served to allow the traditional, ridiculous media to avoid reporting all sorts of very positive things that would reflect very well upon Trump and his Administration. More

Net Neutrality is Dead – Is the Internet Still Here?

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

And Here I Will Remain

Our nation’s thirtieth president was the very great, totally underrated Calvin Coolidge (1923-1929).

Coolidge’s tremendously successful presidential tenure – resulted in what we now call the Roaring Twenties: “(T)he period of Western society and Western culture that occurred during and around the 1920s. It was a period of sustained economic prosperity….The United States gained dominance in world finance.…”

How did Coolidge get us there? With less government, natch.

Coolidge thought government – America’s comparably-microscopic 1920s governments – was way too overactive, overreaching, over-abusive and over-spending.

In 1924, he gave a speech on what he called the debilitating “stupendous sum” of total United States governments’ expenditures. All governments everywhere in America spent per year…$7.5 billion ($108 billion in today’s coin).

Get that comparatively tiny sum? Today’s Feds all by their onesies add more than that adjusted $108 billion – each and every day – to our $20+ trillion national debt. More

Piecemeal Obamacare Repeal: Up Next, Please – the Medical Device Tax

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

End It – Permanently

Obamacare is an unmitigated disaster.

Insurance premiums have skyrocketed – year, after year, after year. Insurance deductibles have skyrocketed – year, after year, after year. More and more insurance providers have left Obamacare – year, after year, after year.

And year, after year, after year – Republicans promised us a full repeal of the very awful Obamacare. They won House and Senate majorities – in no small part because of said promise.

Then We the People delivered DC the final piece in the puzzle – a Republican President. Donald Trump was sworn in in January.

And then the Republican Senate – couldn’t pass even their minimalist semi-pseudo repeal. More

Net Neutrality: The Left is Always Wrong – So Stop Listening to Them

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

It’s the Right Thing to Do

The Left has a very long history of being very wrong.

The birth of modern Socialism-Communism took place a century ago – the Marxist Revolution in Russia. It spent the 20th Century murdering a mere one hundred million people – and consigning nations the world over to wanton terror and abject poverty.

Bizarrely, we in the free market mega-success story that is the United States – are infested with these Socialists-Communists (S-Cs). And have been since the birth of its stupidity. We have watched their worldview implode over and over and over – yet we remain infected by them. (Thanks, government schools and colleges/universities.)

Today’s US Socialists-Communists have wholly taken over a once semi-reasonable, semi-rational political Party. The Democrats – are fully gone around the bend.

Take a gander at the Democrat Party platform. It is an S-C manifesto. Well, person-ifesto. Xi-festo?

Today’s Congress is inundated with elected S-Cs. We just rid ourselves of one in the White House. We’ve been trying their ideas for decades and decades. Everything they’ve touched – has turned to lead. S-Cs – are the anti-Midas.

Social Security – broke. Medicare – broke. That’s 2/3 of the $4-trillion-per-year federal budget right there. S-C President Barack Obama’s Obamacare – well on the way to broke. The Post Office – broke. Amtrak – broke. More

Trump Trade: DC Needs to Do Just About Everything Differently

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Welcome to Washington, D.C.

We have for decades been told that DC is filled to overflowing with Experts. They know things. They understand things at a level We the Plebes can not fathom.

Whenever We the Plebes raised our voices in protest to things DC was doing – the Experts patted us on our heads and told us to simmer down our dim selves.

Well as it turns out, never has an emperor been more naked than has this one.

Potentate DC has for half-a-century-plus been proudly strutting up and down Pennsylvania Avenue and K Street – completely garb-less.

DC has expertly managed us – into $20 trillion in debt.

DC has taxed and regulated us so thoroughly, our economy basically stopped consistently growing at a decent rate more than a decade ago. More

Net Neutrality: The Media Lies – Then Polls on the Results of Their Lies

Seton Motley | Less Government | LessGovernment.org

Not a Whit

A couple of week’s ago, the Donald Trump Administration’s Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced they on December 14 would be rightly, reasonably undoing the Barack Obama Administration FCC’s ridiculous, regressive Internet power grab.

Behold Network Neutrality. And the Obama FCC pretending to be Congress – and “reclassifying” the Internet.

“Reclassification” is Gov Speak – for changing the regulatory category in which the Internet exists.

Since the 1990s privatization of the Internet, the Web has existed in very lightly regulated Title I.

Not surprisingly, when government leaves something largely alone – great things happen.

Nothing in human history has grown bigger, better and/or faster than the Net – in no small part because the government was doing nothing to “help.”

Of course, the Obama Administration couldn’t stand something so freely doing so well. So they – without benefit of Congress – “reclassified” the Web to under Title II. More
